Benefits of Microcurrent Facial

It appears that there’s no end in sight to the pursuit of the latest anti-aging treatment. Presently, microcurrent facials are the talk of the town, no thanks to the fact that it is one of the latest innovations.

Microcurrent facials use electricity to boost the growth of skin cells. Yes! As shocking as it may sound, it is the truth. But that’s not all. Microcurrent facial is injection-free, non-invasive, and painless. Experts say they’re highly beneficial with a fast recovery time.

It sounds intriguing, doesn’t it? We x-rayed this form of treatment, and here’s what we found.

A microcurrent facial gives your facial muscles a natural lift

Machines used for microcurrent facial works out your facial muscles tighten skin appearance and stimulates collagen. Microcurrent facial uses a low voltage to stimulate the development of collagen, and adenosine triphosphate cell growth.

Microcurrent facials tighten the connective tissues and muscles in your face by enhancing cellular activity. The increase in cellular activity also smoothens your facial connective tissues and muscles. A 2012 study published in the Life Science Journal has shown that the tightening and smoothening of muscles and connective tissues by microcurrent facials reduces wrinkles, especially around the forehead area.

It is important to note that microcurrent has been around for many decades. It is widely used in physical therapy, and as such, is effective, safe, and targeted. Physical therapists have used microcurrent therapy-based treatments for pain relief since the 1970s.

It is a pain-free experience

You will have that gentle feeling – kind of zingy because the current is applied close to a nerve fiber. The feeling isn’t that of pain, but it will remind you that something is happening, which will boost your confidence.

You will need more than one session to achieve the best results

The best results from microcurrent facials are achieved when you do them consistently. The benefits are cumulative, meaning that they add up with frequent treatments.

Because this form of treatment requires consistency, many patients sign up for weekly sessions. What makes it better is that it isn’t painful and it gives the patient that instant gratification.

A microcurrent facial isn’t for everyone

A microcurrent facial is a minimally invasive procedure. But despite this, it is worth mentioning that it isn’t for everyone.

Microcurrent works well on all skin types. But on the other hand, patients with metal implants, pacemakers, severe acne, or open sores should not do a microcurrent facial.

Nursing mothers or pregnant women should also avoid the procedure. The device used for this procedure has not been tested on a nursing mother or pregnant woman, so its impact on the baby or mother is unknown.

People who have used face fillers, or lots of neurotoxin or Botox may not be eligible for upper face treatment with microcurrent because their muscles are all frozen.

So, what should you do?

Would you like to try a microcurrent facial? Then you must do proper research to find a professional esthetician.

The whole procedure may be somewhat dramatic because the current is stimulating the small muscles of your face. Excessive nerve stimulation is unnecessary and may become tiresome, but it doesn’t go beyond that. The most important thing is to find a licensed provider who will give you the best treatment.
